We are honored to welcome Katherine Spillar to campus as our WGST Green Honors Chair. Spillar is the Executive Director of the Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF) and the Feminist Majority, national organizations working for women’s equality, empowerment, and non-violence. One of its founders, Spillar has been a driving force in executing the organization’s diverse programs securing women’s rights since its inception. In December 2001, the Feminist Majority Foundation became the sole publisher of Ms. magazine, and in 2005, Spillar was named Executive Editor. A specialist in community organizing, Spillar is also a trained economist and researcher, speaks to diverse audiences on a broad range of feminist topics, and appears frequently on television and radio. Spillar graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University in 1975.
